Heroes of the Nentir Vale
- Make a 1st level character using any sourcebooks you desire except campaign-specific material (including Dragon & Dungeon magazine articles). That precludes Ebberon, Dark Sun, and Forgotten Realms-specific material. It does not preclude material having to do with the default Nentir Vale / Points of Light implied setting, as that’s where the game will take place. :)
- Themes and Backgrounds are officially allowed. Follow rule #1 above.
- Despite not allowing Dark Sun material, you may use the inherent bonus option if you so choose. Keep in mind that the option is an alternative to using magical item bonuses.
- At first level you gain two bonus feats. The first feat is Improved Defenses, which gives you a +1 feat bonus to your Fortitude, Reflex, and Will defenses. The second bonus feat is your selection of any of the Essentials-era Expertise feats, including Master At Arms. In addition, the following custom feat is available as a selection:
Benefit: You gain a +1 feat bonus to the attack rolls of implement attacks. The bonus increases to +2 at 11th level and +3 at 21st level.
Also, you can use a minor action to stow an implement and then draw an implement.
